In the summer of 1997, Peter was offered his dream sportscasting job and married the love of his life. He and Paige started a family and his TV career blossomed. Life was great. There was only one problem.

Paige brought to the marriage her beloved mentor, the mysterious Uncle Robert. For years Peter kept his objections to Uncle Robert and his crazy ideas quiet, but as Paige's blind devotion to him grew, so too did his power. Eventually, Uncle Robert controlled everything-Paige, Peter, their marriage, and their children.

Unwittingly sucked into a dangerous religious cult by the wife he loved, Peter was trapped. Confront Uncle Robert and he risked losing both his marriage and family. Say nothing, and he risked losing control of his mind.

In his powerful memoir, Peter shows how he was brainwashed by a narcissistic cult leader and how, with the help of family, friends, and his Christian faith, he fought the hardest battle of his life.
