*Forbes, Nevill: * - Mitrany joined the Institute for Advanced Study's (IAS) initial faculty of the School of Economics and Politics on September 1, 1933, alongside Edward M. Earle, Winfield W. Riefler, Walter W. Stewart, and Robert B. Warren. In 1953, he resigned from the IAS. Mitrany worked on international relations and Danube-region concerns. He is credited with developing the theory of functionalism in international relations, which is also considered a component of liberal institutionalism. Nevill Forbes was a writer. He was born on February 19, 1883, and died in 1929. From 1909 to 1927, he was the Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Toynbee (born 14 April 1889 in London) was the son of Charity Organization Society secretary Harry Valpy Toynbee (1861-1941) and his wife Sarah Edith Marshall (1859-1939); his sister Jocelyn Toynbee was an archaeologist and art historian.
