Mike Carey is an acclaimed British writer known for blending genre storytelling with literary ambition. His work for Vertigo includes the landmark series Lucifer and The Unwritten, as well as runs on Hellblazer and The Sandman Universe. Outside of comics, he has written novels such as the Felix Castor series and The Girl with All the Gifts (as M.R. Carey), which was adapted into a feature film. Carey's writing is celebrated for its emotional depth, structural inventiveness, and fascination with myth, memory, and the power of stories. Peter Gross is a veteran comics artist and storyteller best known for his collaborations with Mike Carey on Lucifer and The Unwritten. His work on Books of Magic, Lucifer, and The Unwritten helped define Vertigo's visual identity for modern fantasy--clean, expressive, and quietly experimental in its layouts and storytelling. Gross's art excels at shifting between grounded realism and surreal, story-bent worlds, making him an ideal visual architect for a series about the fabric of fiction itself.
