*Richmond, Legh: * - Legh Richmond was a writer and priest in the Church of England who lived from 1772 to 1827. He is known for writing tracts, which were stories of change that were the first to combine stories of poor people and women, and which were then copied a lot. He was also known for a collection of letters to his kids that were very influential. They showed a strong evangelical view of childhood at the time, and they were sometimes used as examples for how parents should talk to their kids and live with their families, like by writers who didn't agree with Richmond's methods. Henry Richmond, a doctor and professor, and his wife Catherine Atherton had him on January 29, 1772, in Liverpool. Thomas was their only child. He went to Trinity College, Cambridge, for his education. In June 1797, he was made a deacon, and in July of that same year, he got his MA. Two days after getting married to Mary Chambers on July 24, 1797, he was given joint charge of St. Mary's Church, Brading and St. John the Baptist Church, Yaverland on the Isle of Wight. In February 1798, he was made a priest.
